Takeaway: Cute style, great glasses, nice carrier though could be heavier duty, useful and decorative.
I ordered the gingham style lids with clear glasses which come in a black powder-coated wire caddy with 4 reusable straws. The pint glasses are the square mason jar style made from thick glass and have handles. On the sides it says ‘Ice Cold Drink’ embossed in the glass. The lids unscrew easily and the glass can contain about 16 oz of liquid. The straws are made from a durable, clear plastic and are colored to match the lids (blue, red, green, yellow). They measure about 8” long and have a built-in stopper at the end so it doesn’t slide out of the lid. When sliding the straw into the lid, be careful not to push too hard or the rubber grommet could pop out. It’s easy enough to put back in, but it’s not attached to the lid so you don’t want to lose it.
The handle on the carrier, which has a curved top like a hanger, sometimes interferes with the straws when carrying the set, but not if the handle is on the opposite side towards the handles of the glasses. The carrier makes it easy to transport all the glasses at once, but the handle bar isn’t super rigid, and it does flex somewhat under the weight of the glasses and drinks. On the caddy, the groove for the handles of the glasses is only on one side of the carrier. These glasses are perfect for cold drinks out on the porch on a hot summer’s day, entertaining guests, and parties. The lids, being printed enamel on metal, do eventually chip and can rust with use like regular mason lids/rings and eventually will need to be replaced. They’re super cute and decorative even when not in use for drinks. Note that these are hand wash only.
