Takeaway: Warm, comfortable, very good audio lag-free quality.

You’ll receive the beanie, a 32” microUSB charging cable, and a brief instruction manual. The beanie measures 8.5” tall with a 9” diameter and is made of a soft 60/40% acrylic polyester blend with a simple rib knit. The inside is lined with a soft fleece layer that adds warmth and protects your head from the cold. The tag indicates the garment is hand washable and can be ironed, but should not be bleached, tumble dried, nor dry cleaned. This beanie has built-in headphones, marked by stitched pockets along the hem. On the right hand side there is a leather patch which covers the controls for the headphones. The patch has 3 symbols for volume adjustment and play/pause, as well as an LED indicator cutout. Duriectly below the patch is a slit so you can access the charging port. When charging the LED indicator will be red. When the battery is fully charged, it turns blue.

The headphones are removable and there is a slit towards the back along the inside of the beanie that allows you to remove it. The headphones are fairly basic 1.5” drivers connected by a wire. The right earpiece features 3 buttons, and a mic as well as the microUSB charging port for the device. When putting the headphones back into the hat, remember to face the buttons on the right earpiece to the outside and line up the charging port of the right earpiece with the slit button hole on that side. This ensures the buttons line up with the symbols on the leather tag. On the left, again the speaker should be facing the interior and pushed all the way to the pocket on the left side.

The center Play/Pause button is also the power button. Press and hold it to turn the headphones on or off. The LED will flash red and blue when in pairing mode. Then in your phone’s Bluetooth menu, connect to ‘Bluetooth Beanie.’ The hat itself is quite warm and comfortable to wear. I was also really impressed with the audio quality of the Bluetooth headphones. It’s clear and crisp with a balance that leans slightly bright in a pleasing way. The Bluetooth 5.0 connection also has nearly lag-free sync so when watching movies or video, the audio will line up perfectly with what you see on the screen. To start or stop playback just short press the play/pause key. This also lets you answer incoming calls. Double-pressing the play key activates your phone’s voice assistant like Alexa or Siri. To increase or decrease the volume, press and hold the plus or minus buttons for a few seconds. These on-ear headphone don’t get super loud, but also don’t distort at max volume. There’s a little bit of bass presence though it isn’t punchy or booming. You can also skip tracks forward and back by short pressing the volume keys.

On a full charge, the headphones last between 5 and 10 hours of playback depending on your listening volume. Although you don’t get heavy bass beats, the overall the accuracy of the audio was very good and the sound is clean and enjoyable. The beanie itself is warm and stylish, if not a little plain. Unlike headphones or earmuffs there’s no elastic pressing the earpieces to the sides of your head, so you barely even feel them there except when you press the control buttons. The only thing is, it won’t create a seal to your ear so it doesn’t provide a lot of passive noise isolation, but there’s minimal noise bleeding even at max volume. It’s great for folks who enjoying listening to music or audiobooks while they’re out in cold weather. It keeps you warm and even lets you answer calls without digging into your pockets or taking off your gloves.
