Takeaway: Good for frozen friend foods, fatty cuts of meat, bacon, cleans up easily, stores compactly.

The baking mat measures 16" x 11.5" and is covered in 556 1/2" tall pyramids. The material the mat is made out of is a soft, matte finished silicone that can be rolled up and is oven safe to 460 degrees Fahrenheit. The mat helps increase air flow under your food items when baking in the oven, supposedly providing more even heating and space for fat and oil to drip away. I tried this with frozen sweet potato fries and they came out crisp on the outside and evenly cooked. I have used this mat for 1 lb of bacon with good results. Although the pan still becomes a greasy mess as the fat drops down onto the mat and into the pan, the bacon doesn't stick to the mat like it does when baking directly on a pan. The oil was a bit difficult to clean out of the hollow backs of the pyramids though. This mat can also be used in the freezer, as a trivet, and is dishwasher safe. Overall, it's a pretty useful silicone mat for specific kinds of cooking.
